He treated a wide range of patients in the Columbus, Ohio area at Columbus Ophthalmology Associates. Dr. Shipton has fit a wide range of specialty contacts including corneal gas permeable lenses, scleral lenses, astigmatic lenses, and soft multifocal lenses. At both the specialty contact lens clinic at OSU and at Columbus Ophthalmology Associates, Dr. Shipton gained experience in fitting children in soft and hard lenses to help slow the progression of near-sightedness, known as myopia control, a new hot topic in the optometric community.

He has an emphasis in medical optometry and continues to give the best optometric care to his patients by staying up-to-date with the latest technology. Dr. Shipton is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Idaho Optometric Physicians Association. He also won the 2021 Rick Bay Innovation Scholarship offered to OSU optometry students by continuing to be innovative in the optometric space.

Dr. Shipton and his wife Kelsey are both from Idaho, and together they have two children, Harper and Ezra. With his family, he likes to get outside by going to the park and playing sports. Some of his personal eclectic hobbies include: disc golfing, wood/metal working, podcast listening and exercising.
