Todd Winbigler, OD

Optometrist

Born and raised in the Treasure Valley, Dr. Winbigler suffered from significant nearsightedness in his early childhood. Dr. Winbigler played basketball, football and baseball as a young man, and as an athlete, his first experience with contact lenses opened a whole new world for him. He took a great interest in his visits to his own eye doctor, and was so pleased to be able to see during his sports events without eyeglasses.

After a tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Winbigler decided to pursue a career in Optometry, hoping to give others the same experience in vision that he had had as a young person. Dr. Winbigler earn a B.S. in Zoology from the College of Idaho and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry.

Dr. Winbigler has an emphasis in Contact Lens Science, Refractive Surgery and its' various applications, and Functional Vision. Dr. Winbigler also treats minor emergencies including foreign body removal, infections and ocular trauma, as well as pre & post operative care for refractive and other surgeries. Dr. Winbigler is the first doctor in the Treasure Valley to fit and prescribe Corneal Refractive Therapy, and did the clinical trials in our region for the Johnson & Johnson lenses Acuvue Advance and Acuvue Oasys. Dr. Winbigler specialized in hard-to-fit contact lenses and custom fits lenses for patients suffering from keratoconus.

“After over 30 years of practice in Optometry, I still love what I do and enjoy the many friends of whom I have had the privilege of providing eye care. It has been said that if a person loves what they do, they will never work a day in their life. That saying certainly applies to me. It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with the care of our most precious senses - our vision!”
