Astigmatism Lenses
Although this is a very common misconception, Astigmatism is not a disease. It’s simply a variation in the shape of your cornea or lens, and it’s very common in people of all ages. Astigmatism is an uneven or irregular shape of your cornea (the front surface of your eye) or your lens (the part of the eye that focuses light onto your retina). If you have astigmatism, your vision may be blurred or distorted at all distances, near or far. Toric Lenses are used in correcting Astigmatism. Special measurements are taken to ensure the proper fit and lens are then ordered to provide Astigmatic patients with optimal vision. Often toric lenses are custom-made and may take longer to get into our office, therefore they cost more than regular contacts.
