Janet Collier, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Janet Collier joined Eyecare Associates in July 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience in primary eye care. A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Collier earned her B.A. in Biology from Rhode Island College before moving to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend Southern College of Optometry. Her final rotations with a multidisciplinary group of ophthalmologists and optometrists solidified her desire to work in a collaborative environment to best meet her patients' needs.

After receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1996, a personal "twist of fate" led her to St. Louis, Missouri, when she met her husband of 25 years, Jason. While in the Midwest, Dr. Collier honed her skills over 29 years, specializing in areas such as specialty contact lens fittings, glaucoma management, and co-managing cataract surgery and other systemic conditions affecting the eye. She has enjoyed witnessing the extensive changes in technology and looks forward to future advances in eyecare.

During a family vacation in 2011, Dr. Collier and her husband fell in love with Idaho and returned  several more times over the years. They decided to make the move from Missouri to Idaho permanent in 2025 once their daughter, Samantha, graduated from college. In her spare time, Dr. Collier enjoys time with her family and their two dogs, as well as painting, playing volleyball, and hiking. The family loves exploring their new home, with favorite local spots including Brick 29 and Lovejoy's for ice cream.
